Man, 26, charged after two GMP officers 'attacked with a knife'

A man has been charged after two Greater Manchester Police officers were alleged to have been attacked with a knife. Jacob Brown is due to appear at Manchester Magistrates Court today (July 28).

The 26-year-old has been charged with Section 18 assault, attempted Section 18 assault and possession of a bladed article. Mr Brown, of Fontwell Close, Whalley Range, has been remanded in custody ahead of the court appearance.

It follows an alleged incident on Wednesday, July 26. The incident unfolded on Wood Road, at the border of Whalley Range and Stretford.

GMP issued an appeal for further information on the incident yesterday (Thursday). Witnesses, or anyone with footage from the area, is urged to come forward.
