South Africa have been forced into a change to their squad for the November internationals and have used the opportunity to strengthen another area of the selection by drafting in flyhalf Jordan Hendrikse after prop Frans Malherbe pulled out injured.
Hendrikse joins scrumhalf brother Jaden in Rassie Erasmus' squad, with the former having played his only Test in the 41-13 win over Wales in London in June.
Double World Cup winner Handre Pollard and Manie Libbok are the other specialist flyhalfs for the tour.
“Jordan has been playing very well for the Sharks in the United Rugby Championship and he’s a capped Springbok, so he is familiar with our structures,” said Erasmus.
“With the UK and South Africa being in similar time zones it would be simple to call up another prop should the need arise during the tour.”
The Springboks play Scotland at Murrayfield on Nov. 10, England at Twickenham six days later and Wales at the Principality Stadium on Nov. 23.
