SA's Bezuidenhout pleased with Presidents Cup debut: 'I would love to play a lot more'

Bezuidenhout was one of eight rookies on Immelman's Presidents Cup team as the Internationals were without several top players due to their LIV Golf association.

The Americans, led by Davis Love III, clinched a convincing 17.5 - 12.5 victory over the International side to lift their ninth consecutive title.

Bezuidenhout appeared in only two of the five possible matches - ending with a Presidents Cup record of 1.5 out of 2 points (1-0-1)

The South African first teamed up with Chile's Mito Pereira on the second day as they tied Americans Cameron Young and Kevin Kisner.

Then,in Sunday's final single matches, Bezuidenhout proved why he is in the form of his life as he defeated Kisner 2&1 to give the International side a much-needed point.

"Yeah. I mean, it was a slow start from both of us. Flags were kind of tricky the whole week. Hard to get the ball close to the flags and stuff," Bezuidenhout told reporters on Sunday.

"But, yes, I mean, to pull off a win... all week was close... close for us and, yeah, it's a pity about the loss, but I think most of us have learned a lot this week."

Bezuidenhout has had a stellar 2021/22 season as he finished 51st on the PGA Tour's FedEx Cup standings, playing in 24 events and missing only four cuts.

The Tokyo Olympian admits to having an enjoyable Presidents Cup debut and hopes to be involved in future tournaments.

"It was an amazing experience. I
