'Gutted Not To Watch Stars In Action': Fans React As Day 2 Of India vs Bangladesh Test Gets Washed Out

As play on Day 2 of the second Test between India and Bangladesh was washed out without a ball being bowled at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur, hundreds of spectators who came to watch the match were disappointed and left feeling gutted. With rain and a wet outfield ensuring no play was possible, it was a difficult time waiting for the spectators as Kanpur was hosting a match after a long time. Continuous drizzle throughout the morning transitioned into light rain by noon, but with no improvement in the outfield conditions, there was no chance for play to resume. With three days remaining, India remains confident of pushing for a result, provided the rain abates.

Election Of BCCI Representatives To ICC Focal Point Of AGM

The primary focal point of the BCCI's 93rd Annual General Meeting, to be held on Sunday, will be to elect two representatives of India to the ICC meetings, as finding a successor to incumbent secretary Jay Shah is not on agenda. The meeting assumes importance because the International Cricket Council has scheduled a conclave in Dubai at the end of the upcoming Women's T20 World Cup in the UAE. The final of the marquee event is slated for October 20 in Dubai, and Shah will still be in the chair of the BCCI secretary on that date, as he will take over as ICC chairman from December 1. It is expected that Shah might attend that meeting as BCCI representative.

Odisha FC defeated Jamshedpur FC 2-1 riding on goals from Diego Mauricio and Mourtada Fall in an Indian Super League match in Bhubaneswar on Saturday. Fall was also guilty of scoring an own goal which proved to be a mere consolation for the visitors. Although Sergio Lobera's side secured an advantage before the break, it was Khalid Jamil's men who started on a stronger note. In just the fifth minute, Jamshedpur FC could have earned their lead, as Javi Hernandez's free-kick from the middle of the park fell onto Stephen Eze's head who flicked it on to Pratik Chaudhari. "Best Bowler Across All Three Formats": Glenn Maxwell's Huge Praise For India Star

All-rounder Glenn Maxwell feels that Australia's success in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy is directly linked with how their batters negate the ace Indian spin duo of Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja. India are eyeing their third successive series triumph in the Antipodean nation after etching epochal victories during the 2018-19 and 2020-21 tours. In fact, India remain the only Asian nation to beat the Australia at their home in a Test series. Maxwell said Ashwin and Jadeja have often dictated the course of the game. "I think that over a long period of time, having played against guys like Ashwin and Jadeja, those two seem to have always been the ones we've faced consistently, and the battles we've had with them have often dictated the outcome of the game," Maxwell told Star Sports.

2nd Test, Day 2: Sri Lanka Scent Series Victory As New Zealand 199-5 After Follow-On

Sri Lanka were just five wickets away from a crushing second Test and series victory over New Zealand on Saturday with the tourists 199-5 at stumps on third day, having followed on after collapsing to 88 all out in their first innings. Tom Blundell was not out 47 and Glenn Phillips on 32 when bad light forced an early end to play in Galle after debutant off-spinner Nishan Peiris took three top-order wickets. Devon Conway, battling to save both his team and his place in the side, joined forces with former captain Kane Williamson in a dogged 97-run partnership for the second wicket.
