Rory McIlroy has given his side of the story after America’s Patrick Reed reportedly threw a tee at him, saying: “If roles were reversed, I’d be expecting a lawsuit.”The spat, on the range at the Dubai Desert Classic, has seen tensions flare up between those on Saudi-backed tour and loyalists towards the PGA Tour and DP World Tour.After a report on Spanish website claimed Reed tossed a tee in McIlroy’s direction after being snubbed, the Norther Irishman has clarified the situation. “I was down by my bag and he came up to me, and I was busy working and sort of doing my practice, and I didn’t really feel like… I didn’t feel the need to acknowledge him,” said McIlroy.“So I didn’t see a tee coming my direction at all, but apparently that’s what happened.
