The 2022 Laver Cup was briefly interrupted by a climate change activist who burst onto the court and lit his right arm on fire during Friday’s day session.The incident occurred during Stefanos Tsitsipas’ singles match against Diego Schwartzman – with both players, match officials and fans left unharmed.The protester wore a white t-shirt which read ‘end UK private jets’ and he was dragged off the court at The O2 in London by members of security.‘It came out of nowhere,’ Tsitsipas said after winning his match to put Team Europe 2-0 up. ‘I had no idea what this was all about.‘I’ve never had an incident like this before on court.

I hope he’s alright.Quizzed on if his discussion with the match umpire was to ensure the court was playable after the incident, Tsitsipas added: ‘Correct.‘I wanted to proceed that match without having any minor changes to the court.
