GARETH SOUTHGATE and the England squad were BOOED off the pitch following a lacklustre performance against Italy. The Three Lions suffered a 1-0 defeat to the Azzurri this evening.
The result saw them RELEGATED from League A of the Nations League for the first time ever. After an underwhelming first half from both teams, Italy broke the deadlock in the 68th minute thanks to a fantastic strike from Giacomo Raspadori.
The striker brought the ball down on the edge of the box following a cross from Leonardo Bonucci before cutting inside and unleashing a an excellent shot into the bottom right corner.
Southgate reacted quickly by making a double substitution. But it was too little too late as the Three Lions went on to suffer their third defeat of the competition.Read more on thesun.co.uk
