Cristiano Ronaldo is facing the threat of a ban after being charged by the FA for slapping a mobile phone out of the hands of a young Everton fan.

The FA said that the Manchester United striker had been charged with “improper and or violent conduct” following the incident, which occurred on April 9 after Everton’s 1-0 win at Goodison Park.

Ronaldo, 37, knocked the phone out of the hand of a 14-year-old Everton fan as the boy filmed him walking down the tunnel. Ronaldo apologised to the teenager on social media afterwards but he could still be in hot water over the incident.
