APL clubs' prospects in the Europa League

Two representatives of the English Premier League, Arsenal and Manchester United FC, will play in their second league competition of the season. Not long ago, the Mancunians had already won this competition (2017), while the Gunners lost in the final of its predecessor, the UEFA Cup (2000). The Europa League group stage kick-off is scheduled for Thursday 8th September. That is why it makes sense to learn more about the group formation and the specific teams' chances of making the playoffs. Well, for betting fans who would like to get a glimpse of the action and place a bet, you should check this page now to find reliable bookies.

Arsenal's Group

Mikel Arteta's side are currently sitting in first place in Group A. PSV, Bodø-Glimt and Zurich will be competing with the Canaries in this quartet. The Londoners' calendar is not the most comfortable, but still not bad and quite promising. Their opening game in Switzerland will be followed by the home game against PSV. It is logical that the twin rounds will be a duel against last year's Conference League play-off sensation, the Norwegian Bodø-Glimt. And in the third round, Arsenal play at home, so it's important to get 9 points by the equator of the draw. In general, we won't be surprised if Arsenal win their quartet and automatically qualify to the 1/8 finals. Remember, this is the path for the best teams in the groups according to the new Europa League format.

Manchester United FC group

Eric ten Hague and his charges have the prospect of playing in Group E, which at first glance seems even more workable for a play-off appearance. Yes, there is Real Sociedad, who the English will kick off with a home game at Old Trafford. But the other two opponents they have to beat without great resistance. Unless there is an underestimation on their part. Omonia from Cyprus can hardly be regarded as an obstacle in the way of the representatives of the top champions. With the Moldovan Sheriff does not work this season Ukrainian coach Yuriy Vernydub, who created a miracle at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in last year's UEFA Champions League.

Interesting in other Europa League groups

A special feature amongst the rest of the 2022/23 Europa League group is quartet B, in which AEK Larnaca are joined by Rennes, Fenerbahce and Dynamo Kyiv. The two latter two have already crossed paths in the second round of UEFA Champions League qualifying, and the fact that the Ukrainians were the last to qualify only confirms that they are teams of roughly the same level. Of course, which of them, and taking Rennes into account, will be third-placed and will advance to the Conference League? Therein lies the main intrigue. In the remaining five groups, there are two clear favourites and two teams who, at best, can claim 5-6 points. But, traditionally, the Europa League is full of sensations, and they occur extremely often in the autumn. So it's always exciting to follow the tournament!
