Fresh off his straight sets victory over Australia's John Millman, German Olympic gold medallist Alexander Zverev raised his concerns about COVID testing at the Australian Open.
Alexander Zverev believes Rafael Nadal is the man to beat at the Australian Open this year if he is to win his first Grand Slam tournament. The third seed has been in fantastic form so far in Melbourne, not dropping a set in his first two matches including beating home hero John Millman 6-4, 6-4, 6-0 to advance to round three. MELBOURNE : Alexander Zverev shrugged off a rowdy centre court crowd at a floodlit Rod Laver Arena to sail into the third round of the Australian Open with an impressive 6-4 6-4 6-0 win over local journeyman John Millman.
Alexander Zverev outlined his Australian Open title credentials with a virtually flawless performance in beating John Millman 6-4 6-4 6-0 to reach the third round. The Olympic champion was given a stern test early on with his Australian opponent buoyed by a partisan crowd, but the third seed produced some of his best tennis — particularly late in the match — to demonstrate why he is considered to be a serious contender to succeed Novak Djokovic as champion.
John Millman has produced a typically gutsy performance against Alexander Zverev, but he found himself outclassed by the world number three in a straight-sets defeat at the Australian Open.
