Nottingham Forest opened the door to a surprise Premier League title challenge after a sixth win in a row with a 3-0 victory at Wolves.
Nottingham Forest's stunning season continued with a 3-0 victory at Wolves on Monday to give manager Nuno Espirito Santo a winning return to Molineux. England international Morgan Gibbs-White and the in-form Chris Wood struck before half-time to take Forest to within six points of leaders Liverpool, who they host in their next Premier League game. Substitute Taiwo Awoniyi rounded off the scoring and a sixth consecutive win for Forest in stoppage time. Defeat leaves Wolves outside the relegation zone only thanks to goal difference as they suffered a first defeat under new boss Vitor Pereira.
Wolves forward Matheus Cunha was given a two-match ban on Tuesday after his clash with Ipswich backroom staff following his side's damaging Premier League defeat. Cunha was seen confronting members of Ipswich's security team in ugly scenes after the final whistle of Wolves' 2-1 loss to their relegation rivals at Molineux on December 14. He was reported to have elbowed a member of the Ipswich staff before snatching the man's glasses from his face. Cunha's team-mate Rayan Ait-Nouri was sent off as tempers flared after Jack Taylor bagged Ipswich's winner deep into stoppage-time.

Ange Postecoglou watched Tottenham lose more ground in the Premier League after Jorgen Strand Larsen struck in the 87th minute to earn Wolves a 2-2 draw and continue Vitor Pereira’s unbeaten start.
Ruben Amorim admits he has “no idea” how long it will take to turn around Manchester United and said his focus is “to survive”.
Manchester United's miserable season suffered another Boxing Day blow as captain Bruno Fernandes was sent-off in a 2-0 defeat at lowly Wolves. Fernandes saw red for the third time this season early in the second half for a second bookable offence. Wolves took full advantage to make it two wins in two games under new boss Vitor Pereira. Matheus Cunha's goal direct from a corner opened the scoring before he teed up Hwang Hee-chan with virtually the last kick of the game. United, who slipped to 14th, have won just twice in seven Premier League games since Ruben Amorim took charge last month and were insipid in attack even before Fernandes' dismissal.
