1st Time In 147 Years: England Set 'Fastest' World Record In Superb Display Of Hitting vs West Indies

England went on a rampage against West Indies in the second Test at Trent Bridge on Thursday. In a superb display of power-hitting Ben Duckett and Ollie Pope went on a rampage as England reached the score of 50 in just 4.2 overs. This is the first time in the 147 years history of Test criket that a team reached 50-run mark in less that 27 balls. In doing so, England broke their own record of reaching 50 in 4.3 overs against South Africa in 1994 at The Oval.

West Indies Announce Playing XI For Second Test Against England

Windies Cricket on Wednesday announced the playing eleven of the Caribbeans for their upcoming second Test match against England at Trent Bridge in Nottingham, starting July 18. The Caribbeans made no changes to their playing eleven and will be coming into the second Test with four pacers and two spinners. West Indies are coming into the second Test after conceding defeat against the Three Lions by an innings and 114 runs. The first test ended on the third day, on Friday.

James Anderson Returns To England Squad As Bowling Mentor vs West Indies

Following his retirement from international cricket after the first Test at Lord's against the West Indies, former right-arm seamer James Anderson has joined the England side as the bowling mentor for the remaining two matches of the Test series. The second Test between England and the West Indies will start from Thursday at Trent Bridge, Nottingham. From the second match of the series, Anderson will be seen in a new role as he set to mentor the English bowling line-up for the rest of the two matches of the series.

Former England batter David Lloyd has accused the England Cricket Board (ECB) and head coach Brendon McCullum of forcing legendary pacer James Anderson into retirement. James Anderson bowed out of international cricket on the winning side as England thrashed the West Indies by an innings and 114 runs on the third day of the first Test at Lord's on Friday. This was the 41-year-old veteran's 188th and last Test before retiring from England duty, with Anderson's tally of 704 Test wickets the most taken by any fast bowler in the history of the format. "It's been an amazing week, been overwhelmed with the reaction of the crowd and everyone around the ground," Anderson told Sky Sports.
