Persistent showers spoiled the return of international cricket to Dominica as the scheduled first T20 of the three-match series between the West Indies and Bangladesh at Windsor Park was declared a no-result on Saturday. Put into bat after a delayed start caused by heavy overnight rain which left damp areas around the pitch, Bangladesh were limited to 105 for eight off 13 overs in a staccato innings interrupted twice as more showers swept down off the mountains surrounding the picturesque ground to eventually wash out any hope of getting a result from a reduced match.

West Indies Announce Squad For White-Ball Series Against Bangladesh

Cricket West Indies' (CWI) selection panel on Tuesday announced the West Indies men's squad for the upcoming three-match T20 International series and the three-match One-Day International series against Bangladesh. Rovman Powell has been announced as the new vice-captain for the T20Is while left-arm fast bowler Obed McCoy returns after recovering from injuries. There are also recalls for experienced wicket-keeper batter Devon Thomas and allrounders Keemo Paul. In the ODI series squad, there is a call up for left-arm spinner Gudakesh Motie.

West Indies batter Chris Gayle opted out of Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2022, in order to focus on the T10 tournament, '6ixty'. 6ixty will run from August 24 to 28 in Saint Kitts, immediately before the CPL season.

Roach's three wickets led the assault of the hapless visitors who closed the truncated day at 132 for six in their second innings, still needing another 42 runs to avoid an innings defeat after Kyle Mayers' topscore of 146 anchored the West Indies first innings total of 408.
