The Indian cricket team, excluding the players who are currently a part of the ongoing Indian Premier League season, has started training ahead of the World Test Championship final that is set to take place at the Oval in England. The match against Australia will kick off on June 7 and the Indian players are making sure they leave no stone unturned in their attempt for a maiden title. The BCCI on Friday uploaded a video on social media in which the likes of Axar Patel, Shardul Thakur and Umesh Yadav could be seen doing a 'fun drill' and the end was just hilariously perfect.
A long rally in badminton is a sight to behold. With the shuttle rebounding at break-neck speed off the racquets, it makes for a great viewing for the spectators and it can leave the best of stars darined out! The same happened during a Malaysian Masters doubles match between Malaysia's Pearly Tan/ Thinaah Muralitharan and Rena Miyaura/ Ayako Sakuramoto of Japan in the women's doubles quarterfinals on Thursday. The two rivals played a 211-shot rally and needless to say that it was quite a humongous effort by the badminton stars.
A brilliant team effort helped Gujarat Titans thrash Mumbai Indians by 62 runs in the Qualifier 2 of IPL 2023 and gave them an entry into their second successive final. The defending champions posted a whopping total of 233/3 in 20 overs, courtesy of the magnificent 129-run knock from Shubman Gill. However, the second-half of the match was completely dominated by pacer Mohit Sharma, who took a five-wicket haul as MI were bundled out for 171. Out of the five wickets, the dismissal of batter Suryakumar Yadav turned out to be the game-changing moment for GT.
After nearly two months of intense action, we are back to where it all started - Gujarat Titans v Chennai Super Kings in Ahmedabad.
Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma appeared together in an event recently and the banter between them won a lot of hearts. The Royal Challengers Bangalore star and the well-known Bollywood actress played a number of games that entertained the crowd while their conversations have already gone viral on social media. During one part of the chat show, Anushka was asked to sledge Kohli and she came up with a perfect sledge while imitating a wicket-keeper. “Aaj 24th April hai, aaj toh run bana le Kohli (Today April 24, at least score runs today, Kohli)," Anushka said.
Needless to say, the infamous Virat Kohli-Gautam Gambhir spat was one of the most unforgettable moments of the IPL 2023. The incident happened after the match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Lucknow Super Giants on May 1. Since then, fans have targetted Gambhir and LSG Naveen-ul-Haq, who also had an on-field altercation with the former RCB captain during the match, by chanting Kohli's name. After LSG lost to Mumbai Indians in the Eliminator earlier this week, the crowd in Chennai was heard chanting Kohli's name while Gambhir was having a chat with batting great and MI mentor Sachin Tendulkar.
Shubman Gill was the star performer for Gujarat Titans as the defending champions registered a comprehensive 62-run victory over Mumbai Indians to book their spot in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 final against Chennai Super Kings on Friday. Gill looked in sublime form as he slammed 129 off just 60 deliveries with the help of 7 fours and 10 sixes. While the innings was mostly without any hiccup, the opener was handed a massive lifeline in the fifth over of the GT innings when he was batting on 30. Gill mistimed a shot off Chris Jordan and it flew straight to Tim David at mid-on. The Australian all-rounder quickly moved to his right but was unable to hold on to the ball as it popped out of his grip mid-dive.
