A video of Pakistan star Azam Khan's wicketkeeping is going viral on social media. The clip is from a Global T20 Canada match in which the 24-year-old could be seen singing behind the stumps and sledging his fellow countrymate Mohammad Haris during the latter's batting. It was a match between Khan's team Mississauga Panthers and Haris' side Surrey Jaguars at CAA Centre, Brampton, Ontario on August 2. The Jaguars were chasing a paltry target of 57 runs and Panthers wicketkeeper Khan was trying his level best to distract the opponent batter Haris.

Pakistan star pacer Shaheen Afridi entered The Hundred competition with a bang as he took two wickets on his first two deliveries for the Welsh Fire against Manchester Originals on Wednesday. Due to rain, the match got reduced to 40 balls-per side and the Fire posted a total of 94/3 after being asked to bat first. However, the Originals fell short by 9 runs as they were restricted to 85/4. Shaheen played a huge role in the Fire's victory as he dismissed Phil Salt and Laurie Evans in the first over.

Taylor Fritz on Friday extended his winning streak to six matches on the American hard courts by securing his passage in the semi-finals of the Washington Open. The American battled past three-time Grand Slam champion Andy Murray 6-7 (2/7), 6-3, 6-4 then returned to breeze past Jordan Thompson. Fritz was not the only player to feature in two matches on Friday at the combined ATP and WTA hardcourt, after rain brought play to a premature end on Thursday. His match against Murray, however, was interrupted due to "Climate Disaster & "End Fossil Fuels" protest.

Surrey Jaguars registered a stunning 38-run victory over Vancouver Knights in the Qualifier 1 match of the ongoing Global T20 Canada tournament on Friday. Asked to bat first, the Jaguars posted a total of 139/9 in 20 overs with skipper Iftikhar Ahmed scoring 36 runs. Later, the Knights were bundled out for 101 as Matthew Forde took a four-wicket haul. With this win, the Jaguars have entered the final of the tournament. Iftikhar played a brilliant innings for his team but his dismissal became the highlight of the match.

Indian cricket team batter Prithvi Shaw made his debut for English county side Northamptonshire in the England Domestic One-Day Cup 2023 but his innings ended in a hit-wicket dismissal. Shaw opened the batting against Gloucestershire but his innings came to an end in the 16th over. The right-hander was batting on 34 when he failed to handle a bouncer from Paul van Meekeren and ended up falling on the stumps. It was an unfortunate end to an innings where the youngster looked in good touch as he slammed two boundaries and one six during his stay at the crease.

Argentina football star Lionel Messi continues to shine for his new club Inter Miami. During his side's 3-1 win over Orlando City in the Leagues Cup round-of-32 on Wednesday, Messi scored a brace and took his tally of goals to five in three appearances for the American football club. It was not an easy match for the Argentine as his opponents marked him tightly for most part of the game. Messi was visibly frustrated during the match. Tilak Varma made his debut for Indian cricket team during the first T20I match against West Indies on Thursday but the youngster looked completely at ease on the big stage. The left-hander pulled off a brilliant catch to dismiss Johnson Charles and while batting, he started his knock in the most explosive way possible. He took on Alzarri Joseph on the second ball of his innings and slammed him straight over deep square leg for a six. The commentators were all praise for him but before they could finish their thoughts, Tilak once again took the aerial route and cleared the deep mid-wicket boundary with ease for the second six. He ultimately ended up scoring 39 off just 22 deliveries.

Indian all-rounder Riyan Parag has made head turn with his blistering performance with the bat during the recently-concluded Deodhar Trophy. After back-to-back centuries in the quarter-final and semi-final, Parag smashed a brilliant 95 in a losing cause, with East Zone chasing 329 against South Zone in the final. With 354 runs and 11 wickets in the bag, Parag was named player of the tournament, despite his team losing in the final. Former India selector Saba Karim feels Parag is the youngster to watch out for in the future, especially white-ball cricket.
