Australia's Mitchell Starc bowled a ripper to clean up Pakistan opener Abdullah Shafique on Day 3 of the third and final Test match in Sydney. It was the last ball of the first over of Pakistan's second innings in which Starc bowled a sensational inswinger to send Shafique packing. The left-arm pacer bowled a fuller delivery that was pitched outside off stump. The ball that was bowled at 143.5 kmph swung viciously into Shafique who had already committed to play in on the front foot. The extra swing found the bat-pad gap and rattled the stumps.
The Newlands pitch has been in the headlines ever since the first day of the second Test between India and South Africa saw a whopping 23 wickets fall. As game resumed on the second day, India struck early, with Jasprit Bumrah sending back David Bedingham. However, not longer after the Proteas lost their 4th wicket of the second innings, play came to a brief halt as India pacer Mukesh Kumar complained of a hole in the pitch where his foot was landing while bowling. Though India captain Rohit Sharma downplayed the situation, hammers came out as the ground staff looked to resolve the matter.
Saturday was an emotional day for all the cricket fans as Australia star batter David Warner played his last Test match at the Sydney Cricket Ground against Pakistan. The 37-year-old dashing opener ended his 13 years long Test career with a remarkable half-century, which helped Australia claim an eight-wicket win and register a clean sweep in the three-match series. In the chase of 130, Warner scored 57 off 75 balls before getting LBW out by Sajid Khan. However, his last moments on the field as a Test batter grabbed a lot of attention and broke many hearts.
Legendary India cricketer Ravi Shastri blasted the scheduling of the India-South Africa Test series as he called the two-match series a "waste of time". South Africa outplayed India completely in the first Test while the Rohit Sharma-led side claimed a historic win in the second Test match that lasted for just 107 overs. Shastri said on commentary that India should focus on playing either 'T20Is and Test matches or ODIs and Test matches' while touring and just refuse to play any two-match Test series in the future.
Manchester United have won 18 of their 19 meetings with Wigan. Since their sole defeat to the Latics in 2012 they have an aggregate score of 14-0 in four meetings.
