Moeen Ali provided the crucial breakthrough for England on Day 5 of the first Ashes Test against Australia as he produced a brilliant delivery to dismiss Travis Head. Head was looking slightly uncomfortable during his knock and it was an impressive ball from Moeen which ended his innings. The delivery pitched on middle stump and instead of turning, it kept its line. The batter was surprised by the lack of movement and he ended up edging it straight to Joe Root at first slip.
Virat Kohli came up with a special message for all his fans as the star India batter completed 12 years in Test cricket on Tuesday. The former India skipper made his debut in the longest format of cricket against West Indies at Sabina Park on Jun 20, 2011 and since then, he has scored 8479 runs in 109 matches. Kohli currently has 28 half-centuries and 28 centuries in Test cricket with his highest score of 254 coming against South Africa. Kohli took to Twitter to post a picture of his batting in Test matches along with the caption – “12 years in test cricket today. Forever grateful”.
The ongoing first Ashes Test between England and Australia is becoming more fierce with every passing day. As the match has reached it's Day 5 with Australia needing 174 runs to win, former England captain Michael Vaughan made a bold prediction about the five-match series. Australia lost three wickets in the form of David Warner, Steve Smith, and Marnus Labuschagne on Day 4 and currently have opener Usman Khawaja and nightwatchman Scott Boland standing unbeaten at the crease. The right-handed star batter brought up his 30th Test century that powered England to a huge score in the first innings and followed it up with a 46-run knock to help his side post a respectable total on the board. Kohli came into bat at number five position and he was sent back to the pavilion by Fidel Edwards. In the second innings, the right-handed Kohli scored 15 runs from 54 balls and was eventually dismissed by Fidel Edwards again.
