INDIAN WELLS, California : Three-times Grand Slam champion Stan Wawrinka said his niggling injury problems were finally behind him after quarter-final runs in Rotterdam and Marseille catapulted him back into the top 100 in the world rankings.
They were the two standout players on the WTA Tour last season, featuring in three of the four Grand Slam finals between them, leading the rankings, and amassing more match wins than anyone else.

INDIAN WELLS, California : The absence of world number one Novak Djokovic from the Indian Wells field will not diminish the achievement of the eventual winner of the tournament, defending champion Taylor Fritz told Reuters.
Novak Djokovic's coach Goran Ivanisevic says the world No. 1 could still play at the Miami Open later this month. Djokovic was forced to withdraw from Indian Wells on Monday after it was revealed that he would be unable to play in the USA due to his vaccination status.
