A total of 67 players are seeded in each of the men's and women's singles competitions, while 16 teams each are seeded for both team events, as per a release by Olympics.com. Last month, Sreeja Akula reached a career-best No. 24 in the world table tennis rankings, displacing Manika Batra as India's top women's singles player.
