Anil Kumble, Muttiah Muralitharan "Would've Got Hit" In Current Era But Not Saeed Ajmal: Ex-Pakistan Spinner

Cricket teams from the sub-continent have often relied on their spinners to pave their way to glory. The cricket folklores of the region has several tales of the exploits of greats like Muttiah Muralitharan, Anil Kumble, Bishan Singh Bedi, Abdul Qadir, Saqlain Mushtaq among others. However, former Pakistan spinner Abdur Rehman, who played 22 Tests, 31 ODIs and eight T20Is for the side between 2006 and 2014, believes that Kumble and Muralitharan would have gone for big runs had they been bowling in the current era.

Australia Rout Sri Lanka At Women's T20 World Cup, Move Close To Semi-finals

Australian opening batter Alyssa Healy said Australia had adapted well to "low and slow" conditions after they scored a commanding 10-wicket win over previously unbeaten Sri Lanka in their Women's T20 World Cup match at St George's Park in Gqeberha on Thursday. The win virtually assured Australia of a place in the semi-finals with three wins out of three, but there's still a possibility of a three-way tie in Group One. Australia's last group match is against South Africa at the same ground on Saturday night.

KL Rahul "Failed Consistently But Retains His Place": Ex-India Pacer Slams Team's Selection Policy

Former pacer Venkatesh Prasad has criticised Team India's selection policy, particularly after skipper Rohit Sharma confirmed that Shubman Gill will be preferred over Ishan Kishan as the second opener for the 1st ODI against Sri Lanka. Prasad also targeted the continuous selection of KL Rahul in the Indian team despite the 'medicore' performances he has been putting in for a while now. In a series of posts on Twitter, Prasad stressed that the constant chopping and changing in the team has hurt India's performances in limited-overs formats.

Mission 2024: Indian T20 Team Under New Skipper Hardik Pandya Prepares For Life Without 'Big Three'

Hardik Pandya will be expected to begin his full-time T20 captaincy tenure on a bold note as the Indian T20 team prepares to start its life beyond Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul with the three match series against Sri Lanka, beginning here on Tuesday. The followers of Indian cricket got more than glimpse of Hardik's vision for the team when led the team to victory in the rain-hit T20 series in New Zealand. In an ODI World Cup year, the shortest format is not priority for the Indian team but the series will allow Hardik to start planning for the future, specifically the 2024 T20 World Cup. India's famed top three -- Rohit, Kohli and Rahul -- are not part of the squad and irrespective of their T20 future , the team must prepare for life without them.
