South Africa Pick Three Spinners For Bangladesh Test Series
South African cricket coach Shukri Conrad on Monday named three spin bowlers in a 15-man squad to play two Tests in Bangladesh next month. The squad was announced on the same day that it was confirmed that South Africa will play Test matches in Dhaka and Chattogram. The decision was taken following a security assessment by a South African delegation in the country -- more than 200 people died in political protests in Bangladesh earlier this year. Left-arm spinner Senuran Muthusamy was recalled to the squad for the first time since March 2023. He will join fellow left-armer Keshav Maharaj and off-spinner Dane Piedt. Only three specialist seam bowlers -– Kagiso Rabada, Nandre Burger and Dane Paterson -– were selected, along with seam bowling all-rounder Wiaan Mulder.

Pakistan have named their 15-member squad for the first Test against England set to be played in Multan from October 7, including the 37-year-old spinner Noman Ali in place of an injured pacer, Khurram Shahzad. Pakistan have included the left-arm spinner Noman for the first Test of the three-match series starting from October 7 in Multan. He has played 15 Test matches for Pakistan, taking 47 wickets at an average of 33.53. In his last Test match for Pakistan against Sri Lanka in Colombo, Ali had taken a career-best haul of 7 for 70, as per the ICC.

Spinner Adil Rashid made history on Saturday, becoming the first-ever England spinner to reach milestone of 200 ODI wickets. Rashid accomplished this feat during the second ODI against Australia at Leeds. In his 10 overs, he took 2/42 at an economy rate of 4.20. He got the wickets of Glenn Maxwell and Adam Zampa. Now in 137 ODIs since his debut in the format back in 2009, Rashid has taken 201 wickets at an average of 32.22, with the best figures of 5/27. Basit slammed Lyon and stated that such remarks should not come from a cricketer. He even urged Ravichandran Ashwin to reply back to Lyon's comment. "I will only say one thing about Nathan Lyon's stupid statement that Australia will defeat India by six Tests, but only by words. In the past two series, India have dominated Australia. Such comments don't suit cricketers. Ricky Ponting or former cricketers can make such statements.
