Bangladesh To Tour South Africa For 3 ODIs, 2 Tests In March-April

Cricket South Africa (CSA) on Wednesday announced the finalized dates and venues for the Proteas men's inbound tour against Bangladesh. The tour will consist of three ODIs and two Tests across four venues from March 18 to April 12, 2022. "SuperSport Park, Centurion will host two of the ODI matches, with the third taken by the Wanderers, Johannesburg while the coastal cities of Durban and Gqeberha will take on the Test fixtures," stated CSA in an official release.

Cam Fletcher and Blair Tickner have earned their maiden Test call-ups while Colin de Grandhomme and Hamish Rutherford have been recalled as part of an extended New Zealand squad for the first Test against South Africa starting February 17 at Christchurch's Hagley Oval. The larger than normal 15-strong squad will allow the selectors to better cover their options while mitigating the health risk associated with bringing players into the team environment at short notice, should there be any injuries. That presented opportunities for in-form Canterbury wicket-keeper Fletcher, who will be the back-up gloveman to incumbent Tom Blundell, while Central Stags paceman Tickner will provide cover for the quick bowlers.

South African cricket captain Dean Elgar said on Wednesday that his players supported head coach Mark Boucher, who faces a disciplinary process on charges of racism that could result in his dismissal. Elgar was non-committal about whether he personally would testify in Boucher's defence in hearings which have been delayed until May because Boucher intends to call some current players to testify. It was announced on Tuesday that the hearings would be delayed until South Africa has completed a tour of New Zealand and an incoming tour by Bangladesh.

Cricket South Africa (CSA) on Wednesday confirmed that Keegan Petersen will miss the tour of New Zealand after testing positive for COVID-19. "The number three batter is well and asymptomatic. Cricket South Africa's (CSA) medical team will keep in close contact with him to ensure his physical and mental well-being," CSA said in an official statement. Six-Gun Grill Western Province batsman, Zubayr Hamza, will replace him for the tour.

South Africa Head Coach Mark Boucher Has Hearing Postponed Until May

The disciplinary hearing against South African head coach Mark Boucher has been postponed until May, the chairperson of the hearing announced on Tuesday. Boucher faces charges of racism, laid by Cricket South Africa, which could result in his dismissal. Advocate Terry Motau said in a statement that he had decided to hold the hearing from May 16 to 20 after considering arguments submitted by Boucher's legal team, who intend to call current South African players to testify in his defence.

Skipper Bavuma was dismissed by a stunning direct hit by Rahul and fans took to social media to hail the 29-year-old's effort. Receiving a full delivery from Chahar in the seventh over, Bavuma sent it to the right of mid-off and left for a single. But instead of running in a straight line, he angled his run to his left after crossing the bowler and Rahul attacked the ball well, throwing an accurate direct hit at the bowler's end.
