Charlotte Bankes successfully qualified as the second seed for the snowboard cross finals. The Brit, who is the current world champion in snowboard cross, finished second in a time of 1:22.72 behind Italy's Michela Moioli (1:22.19).
ZHANGJIAKOU, China : American Chloe Kim breezed through Wednesday's qualifiers in the women's snowboard halfpipe at the Beijing Games to advance to the final in first place, while Japanese teen Mitsuki Ono followed in her Olympic debut.
