Teenager Troy Podmilsak shattered new World Championship ground by becoming the first American to grab big air gold in Georgia. The 18-year-old beat Austrian ace Lukas Muellauer and Norwegian Birk Ruud as Matej Svancer — Muellauer's compatriot — narrowly missed out on a medal in Bakuriani. Ad Podmilsak claimed scores of 91.25 and 96.50 on his pair of runs to beat Muellauer to the summit of the podium by 3.25 points.
