Asian Games silver medallist Lakshay Sheoran won bronze in men's trap but missed one of the two available Paris 2024 Olympics quota places by a whisker in the Asia Olympic Qualifiers for shotgun on Monday. Sheoran finished third despite leading the 50-shot final for most of it. 15-year-old Iranian Mohammad Beyranvand struck gold and the first quota place, getting the better of silver winning Chinese Guo Yuhaoa, the latter missing his second shoot-off shot after both had tied at 40 hits. Guo also collected the second quota place.
Indian shooters' gold rush continued in the Asia Olympic Qualifiers with Yogesh Singh winning the top prize in individual as well as team event of the men's 25m centre fire pistol competition in Jakarta on Monday. Yogesh claimed the individual gold medal after shooting 573, finishing ahead of silver winner Muad Al Balushi of Oman (570) and Indonesia's Anang Yulianto (567). The other two Indian participants in the event, Pankaj Yadav (567) and Akshay Jain (564), ended fourth and sixth respectively.

Indian shooters continued to hit the bullseye in the Asia Olympic Qualifiers in Jakarta on Sunday, with Yogesh Singh winning the men's 25m individual standard pistol gold before combining with Amit Kumar and Om Prakash to claim the team event. At the Olympic qualifiers for shotgun discipline in Kuwait City, at least two women trap shooters were favourably placed after day one of qualification, to make the top six finals cut on Monday. Yogesh shot 572 to clinch the standard pistol gold and then partnered with Amit (565) and Prakash (553) for the team gold in the event, bringing India's overall podium finishes to a whopping 32, including 14 gold and 10 silver.
