The all-important 44th Olympic Council of Asia General Assembly will take place at the Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan in New Delhi on Sunday, September 8. On the occasion, former Indian shooter Randhir Singh will be officially named as the first Indian President of the Olympic Council of Asia in the presence of notable dignitaries including Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Mansukh Mandaviya, and top sports leaders from all 45 countries of Asia.

Building on the success of its Sector 38 branch, which opened in 2022, this new location strengthens Topgun's already robust presence in Delhi, Raipur, and Jaipur. The academy was founded in 2006 by former international shooter Shimon Sharif. Indian shooters failed to make the final of the mixed 50m rifle prone (SH1) competition at the Paralympic Games here on Thursday. Mona Agarwal, 36, the winner of the bronze medal in the 10m air rifle (SH1) competition at the Games, finished 30th with an aggregate of 610.5 across six series. Sidhartha Babu, who had ended 28th in the mixed 10m air rifle prone (SH1) qualification a few days back, too could not raise the level of his game to finish 22nd with a total of 615.8. Spain's Juan Antonio Reinaldo topped the qualification with a score of 626.9.

Pranjali Dhumal clinched bronze in Women's 25m Pistol event, to take India's tally to 13 medals (three gold, six silver and four bronze) after day four of the 2nd World Deaf Shooting Championship 2024 being held in Hanover, Germany. Pranjali qualified for the finals after shooting a deaf world record and deaf world championship record of 571. In the finals, she hit three out of five shots in the eighth series to edge out Lana Skeledzija by a single point to secure the bronze medal. She finished with a score of 29 behind the Ukrainian pair of Sofiia Olenych and Halyna Mosina who secured gold and silver respectively.
