PHOENIX — Major League Baseball isn't done tinkering with potential rule changes for the sport.
The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 is set to begin on Friday at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The good-old home-away format returns, with all 10 franchises getting to host games at their venues. While the 'IPL of old' is returning after a gap of three years, a few 'firsts' will be witnessed this season, with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) deciding to add some new features like 'Impact Player', while making a few other rule changes in the league.

Sachin Tendulkar feels in order to keep the primacy and attractiveness of Test cricket intact, one shouldn't look at in how many days the match ends, but instead the focus should be on garnering more eyeballs. The legendary cricketer is also finding current ODI cricket, a bit of a drag and wouldn't mind a change in format. Three of the Border-Gavaskar Tests between India and Australia recently ended inside two-and-a-half days, leading to a massive criticism of pitches, but Tendulkar said it is part and parcel of cricketer's job to play on different surfaces.
