IPL 2022, RR vs KKR: Buttler's ton, Chahal's hat-trick help Rajasthan Royals beat Kolkata Knight Riders

Opener's 2nd ton of the season, leggie's hat-trick help Rajasthan prevail in high-scoring thriller; KKR lose by seven runsA sensational hat-trick from Rajasthan Royals leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal in his fourth over and the 17th of the innings when Kolkata Knight Riders needed 39 runs to win off 24 balls to chase down 217 enabled the inaugural IPL champs to a thrilling seven-run win at the Brabourne Stadium on Monday. Chasing 218, the Knights seemed well placed to do the seemingly unthinkable thanks to a blazing half-century from Aaron Finch and a well-paced 85 from skipper Shreyas Iyer. AS IT HAPPENED | SCORECARD | POINTS TABLEThey were 178 for 4, but then Chahal got into the act getting the wickets of Venkatesh Iyer, Shreyas, Shivam Mavi and Pat Cummins, the last three off successive balls to star in a stunning turnaround. Umesh Yadav belted Trent Boult for 20 runs in his last over and the 18th of the innings to make it 18 needed off the last two. Prasidh Krishna bowled a decent 19th over leaving the Knights with 11 runs of the last over bowled by debutant Obed McCoy. The West Indian held his nerve and dismissed Sheldon Jackson and Umesh Yadav to bowl the Royals to a famous win on a belter of a track.

IPL 2022, Rajasthan Royals vs Kolkata Knight Riders Highlights: Buttler ton, Chahal hat-trick in Rajasthan's exciting 7-run victory over KKR

Jos Buttler's magnificent second hundred of this IPL season was beautifully complemented by a 'five-star' Yuzvendra Chahal, who spun his web with a hat-trick as Rajasthan Royals won a high-scoring thriller against Kolkata Knight Riders by 7 runs on Monday. Buttler's 61-ball 103 had nine fours and five sixes as Royals scored an imposing 217 for five but KKR skipper Shreyas Iyer (85 of 51 balls) made a match of it in company of Aaron Finch (58 off 28 balls). As it happened | Scorecard | Points TableHowever, it was the 17th over when Chahal (5/40 in 4 overs) removed Venkatesh Iyer off his first delivery and then Shreyas, Shivam Mavi and Pat Cummins off the fourth, fifth and sixth balls to completely turn the match on its head. From 180 for 4, it became 180 for eight but Umesh Yadav had other ideas. He hit two sixes and a four off Trent Boult's 18th over to bring the equation down to 18 from the last two overs. With 11 required off the last six balls, West Indies left-arm pacer Obed McCoy kept his cool to get Sheldon Jackson and Umesh to bring cheers to the Royals camp.

IPL 2022, KKR Predicted XI vs RR: Kolkata Knight Riders Face Conundrum In Pace Department

Kolkata Knight Riders will be looking to brush off their poor run of form and get back to winning ways when they take on Rajasthan Royals in Match 30 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 season. After a decent start to the season, the slumped to consecutive defeats against Delhi Capitals and SunRisers Hyderabad and have slipped to 6th in the IPL 2022 points table. Their biggest concern will be their pace attack, with the young Rasikh Salam ruled out of the season with injury. Shivam Mavi has been expensive and was dropped for Salam, and they tried all-rounder Aman Hakim Khan against SRH, but he bowled just one over and was sent to bat at No.9. It will be interesting to see if they persist with him, or turn back to Mavi, who has more experience at this level.

With the 119th edition of Paris-Roubaix reverting to its spring-time slot in the calendar and warm, dusty conditions forecast in northern France, we run through the main contenders for the third Monument of the season, the co-called Hell of the North. In the absence of defending champion Sonny Colbrelli and the 2018 winner Peter Sagan, it’s highly likely that we see a new man on top of the podium on Sunday – unless veterans Philippe Gilbert, John Degenkolb, Greg van Avermaet and Niki Terpstra pull an unlikely result from the bag.
