What Happened To Neeraj Chopra? All You Need To Know About His Injury

For elite athletes, the impact of an inguinal hernia can be significant, affecting performance and requiring careful management, said doctors in the wake of reports on Neeraj Chopra suffering from a long-standing inguinal or groin hernia. An inguinal hernia is a bulge of abdominal organs like the momentum or intestine through the natural openings through which testicular vessels and cord structures pass from the abdomen to the testes. Chopra, India's leading track and field athlete, bagged a Silver medal in the recently concluded Paris Olympics 2024. His performance was reportedly impacted due to the condition during the men's javelin final at the Olympics, finishing behind Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem. The 26-year-old javelin star, while speaking to the media, said that he has been suffering from the condition for a long time and threw 89.94m (personal best in 2022) with this injury.

The throw left everyone stunned and it was enough to beat India's Neeraj Chopra who claimed the silver with a season-best throw of 89.45m. Following his Olympics triumph, Nadeem has been busy with media interactions and a moment from an interview has gone viral on social media. In the video, the reporter asked Nadeem - "What is the plan now?" and he replied - "Maal ikatha karna hain (Need to collect things)".

France Reports Over 140 Cyberattacks Linked To Olympics 2024

French authorities said on Tuesday that more than 140 cyberattacks were reported during the Paris Olympics, but none of them disrupted the competitions. In the runup and throughout the Olympic Games, France's cyber security agency had been on high alert for attacks that had the potential to disrupt the organising committee, ticketing or transport. Between July 26 and August 11, government cyber security agency Anssi recorded 119 reports corresponding to low-impact "security events" and 22 incidents in which "a malicious actor" successfully targeted a victim's information system. The attacks mainly targeted government entities as well as sports, transport and telecoms infrastructure, the agency said.
