India vs South Africa: Rassie van der Dussen, David Miller Star As Proteas Chase Down Record Target In 1st T20I

David Miller carried his sensational IPL form to international cricket as South Africa made a mockery of the Indian bowling attack to gun down their highest ever run-chase and race to a seven wicket win in the opening T20 in New Delhi on Thursday. Rassie Van der Dussen (71 not out off 45 ) and Miller (64 not out off 31) shared an unbeaten 131-run stand to chase down a stiff 212-run target with ridiculous ease and five balls to spare. India had posted an imposing to 211 for four with the help of Ishan Kishan (76 off 48 balls), new skipper Rishabh Pant (29 off 16) and Hardik Pandya (31 off 12). However, it was not meant to be as the Indians were outdone by the brilliance of Miller and van der Dussen, who toyed with the opposition attack.

"Off With Our Execution....": Rishabh Pant On What Went Wrong In 1st T20I Loss Against South Africa

India captain Rishabh Pant feels his team lacked execution with the ball despite putting enough runs on the board to suffer a seven-wicket defeat at the hands of South Africa in the first T20 in Delhi on Thursday. After putting on a huge 211 for four riding on Ishan Kishan's 76, the Indian bowlers cut a sorry figure as South Africa achieved their highest T20 run-chase to end India's 12-match winning streak in the format.

'Killer' Miller teams up with hitman Rassie to sensationally take out India in first T20

India will not feel safe defending a target of 200 or more against the Proteas in the shortest form of the game anytime soon after David Miller and Rassie van der Dussen sensationally guided their side to a seven-wicket victory in the first of five T20s on Thursday evening.

IPL 2022, Rajasthan Royals Predicted XI vs Chennai Super Kings: Should RR Replace James Neesham With Rassie van der Dussen?

Rajasthan Royals (RR) will face Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Match 68 of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on Friday. This will be RR's last group stage game of IPL 2022 and they will look to end the league stage on a high against MS Dhoni-led CSK. Skipper Sanju Samson could be tempted to bring in the services of batter Rassie van der Dussen in place of a struggling James Neesham in their playing XI to bolster batting depth.

Rajasthan Royals Predicted XI vs Lucknow Super Giants, IPL 2022: James Neesham May Replace Rassie van der Dussen

Rajasthan Royals skipper Sanju Samson could choose the all-round abilities of James Neesham over Rassie Van der Dussen, who has been struggling with the bat when they take on Lucknow Super Giants at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday. Like LSG, RR also lost their previous IPL 2022 tie against DC by eight wickets. Sanju will be hoping to get the team back to the winning ways with the teams entering into the crucial phase of the competition.

Rajasthan Royals Predicted XI vs Kolkata Knight Riders: Rassie Van Der Dussen Likely To Make His Return

Rajasthan Royals will look to get back to winning ways as they take on Kolkata Knight Riders in Match 47 of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. RR have been in excellent form this season, but their winning run was halted by Mumbai Indians. However, RR have largely relied on their talismans Jos Buttler and Yuzvendra Chahal, who are leading the Orange and Purple Cap charts, respectively. While their bowling has been exceptional this season, RR have been inconsistent with the bat when Buttler has not fired. South Africa batter Rassie van der Dussen is likely to get another chance in the team.

IPL 2022: Rajasthan Royals' Kumar Sangakkara Reveals He "Got One Call Wrong" During Win Over LSG

Rajasthan Royals Director of Cricket, Kumar Sangakkara, feels Ravichandran Ashwin handled the match situation really well by 'retiring out' at the right time but the Sri Lankan great conceded that he erred in not sending Riyan Parag ahead of Rassie van der Dussen. The Royals became the first team in IPL history to employ the 'retired out' tactic as Ashwin went back to the dug out despite being 28 not out during their game against LSG on Sunday. "It was the right time to do that," Sangakkara said at the post-match press conference.
