Toney 'concerned' over FA disciplinary process amid speculation on gambling ban

Brentford striker Ivan Toney says speculation relating to his impending disciplinary hearing on gambling-related charges has left him concerned about the process. Toney is reported to be facing a ban of up to six months after being charged with a total of 262 breaches of the Football Association's gambling laws that date back to 2017. But Toney has hit out at the governing body over what he perceives to be potential lapses of confidentiality as he prepares to argue his case. Toney wrote on his Instagram stories: "I was shocked and disappointed to see press speculation yesterday and today about the FA investigation process concerning me after I have been told by the FA that it is a confidential process until any decision has been made. "It is especially disturbing for me to read that the FA is saying I shall be banned from football for six months before there has even been a hearing, and it does make me worried about the process. "My lawyers will be writing to the FA to request that they conduct a leak inquiry as this is the second time stories have appeared in the newspapers - the last time was just before the selection of the England World Cup squad. "As I continue to be told the investigation is mean to be confidential, I am unable to provide any further comment. I shall continue to concentrate on my football."

Arteta: When you have Saka and Martinelli, good things happen

Mikel Arteta praised the partnership between Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka as the pair moved into double figures in the Premier League this season during Arsenal's victory over Everton. The Gunners ran out 4-0 winners at the Emirates to re-establish their five-point lead over Manchester City at the top of the league and deepen the visitors' relegation fears. A goal in either half from Martinelli and one each for Saka and Martin Odegaard were enough to bury Sean Dyche's side on a night when a confident Arsenal never looked like repeating last month's defeat at Goodison Park.

Arsenal vs Everton - Preview

Arsenal vs Everton - Watch Now!  Arsenal can open up a five-point gap at the top of the Premier League with a victory over strugglers Everton. As ever you can follow the action exclusively on beIN SPORTS.  After falling to a 1-0 defeat to Everton just a few weeks ago, league leaders Arsenal will have revenge on their minds when Everton arrives in North London on Wednesday evening. That defeat to a solitary header from James Tarkowski started a minor blip for the Gunners which ended with a defeat to title rivals Manchester City. Since then back to back wins against Aston Villa and Leicester has steadied the ship, with Arsenal now two points clear above Man City.  The victory at Leicester was particularly impressive considering that Arsenal restricted the hosts to only one shot on target all game, whilst also importantly giving striker Eddie Nketiah a brief rest by utilizing Leandro Trossard as the false nine. These changes will be good news for Mikel Arteta with the fixtures starting to pile up with the reintroduction of the UEFA Europa League.  Arteta will be demanding focus from his young side, especially when you consider their recent home form. Arsenal has only won one of their last four home matches in the Premier League and the Spanish coach will be looking to change that record against the relegation strugglers.
