Bengaluru FC took the lead thanks to Sunil Chhetri as he scored in the seventh minute of the extra time but Blasters were not pleased with how the goal was executed. There was a discussion between the Kerala Blasters footballers and the referee which ended in the side leaving the field. Bengaluru FC players waited for the remainder of the game and were awarded the match.
