Former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram on Sunday was formally inducted into the Pakistan Cricket Board's (PCB) Hall of Fame. West Indies great Sir Vivian Richards inducted Wasim Akram into the exclusive list by presenting him with a commemorative plaque and cap ahead of the start of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) match between the Karachi Kings and the Quetta Gladiators. Akram, who made his international debut in 1984, took a total of 916 wickets and scored 6,615 runs in an international career.
Australian cricketer James Faulkner was on Saturday handed a life ban from the Pakistan Super League (PSL) after he withdrew from the tournament, blaming the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and his franchise Quetta Gladiators for not "honouring" a contractual agreement. Taking to Twitter, Faulkner, who played six matches for the Gladiators this season, had also apologised to the Pakistan cricket fans for withdrawing from the competition. "I apologise to the Pakistan cricket fans. But unfortunately, I've had to withdraw from the last two matches and leave the PSL due to the PCB not honouring my contractual agreements/payments," Faulkner wrote in a Twitter thread.
Former West Indies great Sir Vivian Richards has lavished huge praise on Pakistan's star batter and captain Babar Azam. Richards, who is a mentor for Pakistan Super League team Quetta Gladiators, compared Babar with legendary boxer Muhammad Ali during an interview with Cricket Pakistan. According to a source, the national team's physiotherapist, Cliffe Deacon, lodged a complaint with Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ramiz Raja regarding the attitude of Abbas, who has so far played 25 Tests.
Pakistan cricket selectors on Wednesday announced 16 players and five reserves for the three Tests against Australia, which will be played in Rawalpindi, Karachi, and Lahore.
