"Prospect Of India, Pakistan Not Playing...": BCCI Source's Big Revelation Ahead Of ICC Meet

The future of Indo-Pak cricket at ICC events is set to be discussed at the annual conference of the sport's governing body, scheduled in Singapore from July 17-20. Both countries only play each other at multi team events but the recent military conflict has fuelled speculation over the future of the blockbuster clash in ICC competitions starting with next year's T20 World Cup to be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka. "The issue is bound to come up for discussion at the annual conference. While prospect of India and Pakistan not playing in ICC knockouts is unlikely, not drawing them in the same group, which has been the norm at ICC events, is a possibility," a BCCI source told PTI.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) have confirmed that they have received a green light from the government to tour Pakistan for their upcoming five-match T20I series, starting from May 27. There was some uncertainty whether the series would go ahead following cross-border tension between India and Pakistan in the second week of May. However, as per the latest reports, the Bangladesh cricket team are all set to tour Pakistan after receiving the go-ahead. The T20I series will conclude on June 5.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is considering having a mini replacement draft for the remaining PSL matches as franchises are struggling to ensure availability of overseas players who left the country in the wake of recent India-Pakistan military conflict. The PCB was planning to relocate the Pakistan Super League (PSL) to the UAE but suspended it after tension grew at the border. The PCB announced on Tuesday that the league will be completed in the May 17-25 window but did not share the full schedule.

PCB Sacks Domestic Teams Mentors Including Waqar Younis, Misbah Ul Haq

Pakistan Cricket Board on Tuesday sacked all five mentors who were appointed with domestic teams during the inaugural edition of its Champions One-Day Cup, including former captains Waqar Younis and Misbah Ul Haq. Former skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed, Shoaib Malik and Saqlain Mushtaq were the other mentors who were assigned to each of the five competing teams in the 50-overs competition. A source informed that PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi, during a meeting with the board officials, had been briefed about the performance of the mentors since their appointments last year.
