TAMPA — The Tampa Bay Lightning fell short of the first Stanley Cup three-peat since 1983 — but they don't believe their dynasty has crumbled.

The two-time defending champion Tampa Bay Lightning staved off elimination against the Colorado Avalanche in Game 5, largely due to late-game heroics from Ondrej Palat.
The Stanley Cup will be in the house at Amalie Arena on Sunday night, but the host Tampa Bay Lightning will do everything they can to prevent the Colorado Avalanche from clinching on their ice. After a late goal from Ondrej Palat in the third period, the Lightning held on for a 3-2 win in Game 5.
