Pakistan Cricket Board chief Ramiz Raja has given a strong reaction to a recent statement made by opening batter Ahmed Shehzad. The player has been out of favour for a long period now, and way back in 2016, then coach Waqar Younis had advised him to return to domestic cricket. The 30-year-old Shehzad reacted to the report saying it dented his career. Shehzad has played 13 Tests, 81 ODIs and 59 T20Is. He last played for the national team in October, 2019 in a T20I against Sri Lanka in Lahore.

Team India head coach Rahul Dravid brushed aside concerns about Virat Kohli's age and fitness and said the star batter is "doing what he needs to do" to come out of his lean patch of form. About 1.8 million tickets were sold in the first two batches of sales, FIFA said, without saying how many are now available. Qatar will host the first World Cup in the Middle East from November 21 to December 18 at eight stadiums in and around the capital, Doha. The latest tickets will go on sale online from July 5 at 12pm Doha time (09:00 GMT) until 12pm on August 16, FIFA said in a press release.
