A mural to Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola in the shadow of the Etihad has been vandalised again in the build up to the Manchester derby. The mural on 63-year-old Lesley Kelly's house was vandalised hours after its unveiling last week (September 22) with red paint and 'MUFC' scrawled over the artwork.
It was a fantastic night for Team India on Sunday as they defeated Australia in the third T20I in Hyderabad to clinch the three-T20I series 2-1. Chasing 187, India didn't have the best of starts as openers KL Rahul (1) and Rohit Sharma (17) were out inside the first four overs. But Virat Kohli (63 off 48 balls) and Suryakumar Yadav (69 off 36 balls) shared a 104-run partnership to lay the platform for the Indian victory. After the match, during the presentation, skipper Rohit took former India spinner Murali Kartik, also part of the commentary panel for the official broadcasters, by surprise.
A Pep Guardiola mural near City's Etihad stadium has been restored after it was defaced with 'MUFC' graffiti hours after being unveiled. The artwork was 'mindlessly vandalised' following three days of hard work by artist Mr Meana.
Muttiah Muralitharan said that India have enough spinners in their team and they will play a game-changing role for the Men in Blue on Australia pitches. Pitches in Australia are often believed to aid the pacers, however, Sri Lanka legend believes that India have enough spinners on their side and they will play a big part in the World Cup. "I have seen their three spinners playing, so I think it's a penalty in Australian conditions as it does not spin much.
Muttiah Muralitharan and Shane Warne ended their careers as arguably the two greatest spinners to grace the game of cricket, and their records back up that claim. While Muralitharan is the highest-ever wicket-taker in Tests, Warne is just behind him. The Sri Lanka legend on Thursday opened up about the late great Warne, who died of a heart attack earlier this year, and said that the Australian was better than him. "I think he was better than me, when I was playing I looked up to him and learnt things from him. We all miss him," an emotional Muralitharan told reporters on the eve of the second edition of the Legends League Cricket.
Sri Lankan great Muttiah Muralitharan on Thursday sounded a warning to the teams ahead of next month's T20 World Cup, saying they will have to be careful against Wanindu Hasaranga as the mystery spinner would be a threat on Australian pitches. Hasaranga took nine wickets to power his team to the Asia Cup title win and Muralitharan said he would be one to watch out for during the T20 World Cup. "He's a great T20 bowler. Last 2-3 years, he's done really well. He's a young guy," Muralitharan told reporters in an interaction on the eve of the second edition of the Legends League Cricket.
