On the fifth ball of second over of MI's batting, left-arm pacer Fazalhaq Farooqi's length delivery hit Rohit on the back foot. Umpire raised his finger over the appeal for an LBW but the MI batter decided to go upstairs. It was a brilliant call from Rohit as ball-tracking suggested that the ball was pitched down the leg side. Whle it was a superb review from Rohit, the timing of his DRS (Decision Review System) was questioned by many on social media. Those asking questions pointed out that the timer had run out by the time Rohit asked for a review.

Mumbai Indians batter Suryakumar Yadav recently reflected on his debut season for Mumbai Indians in 2011 and said that he “barely slept” the night before the game. Suryakumar first came into prominence during the 2011–12 Ranji Trophy season, where he emerged as the top scorer for Mumbai with 754 runs in nine matches. His impressive domestic form earned him a spot in the Mumbai Indians squad the same year. In the 2012 IPL, Suryakumar made his debut for Mumbai Indians against Pune Warriors at the Wankhede Stadium. He played in one match and was dismissed for a duck. This was also the only match he played for MI in that season.

Mumbai Indians Sign Raghu Sharma As Vignesh Puthur's Replacement For IPL 2025

Mumbai Indians (MI) have signed leg-spinner Raghu Sharma as a replacement for Vignesh Puthur, who has been ruled out of the remainder of the IPL 2025 due to injury, the franchise said on Thursday. This marks Raghu's maiden stint in the IPL. He joins MI at the base price of Rs 30 lakh from the RAPP list. Raghu, born on March 11, 1993, in Jalandhar, Punjab, is a right-arm leg-break bowler. He has represented Punjab and Puducherry in domestic cricket. In 11 first-class matches, he has taken 57 wickets at an average of 19.59, with best bowling figures of 7/56. In List A cricket, he has claimed 14 wickets in 9 matches, with best figures of 4/37. He has also featured in 3 T20 matches, picking up 3 wickets.

The 14-year-old Suryavanshi wrote his name in history books, hitting a 38-ball 101 against Gujarat Titans to become the youngest ever to score a ton in the IPL and overall men's T20 cricket. The IPL currently has the 74-match format ever since Gujarat Titans (GT) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) entered the fray in 2022. "Definitely, that might be an opportunity. We've been discussing in ICC, we've been discussing in-house in BCCI. Given how the interest of the fan is changing with regard to bilateral and ICC events, in regard to franchise cricket and T20 cricket, we'll have to talk more seriously about it and see how we can create maximum value for the stakeholders of the game."
