Pochettino agrees to become new U.S. national football team manager
Mauricio Pochettino has agreed a deal to take over as the new manager of the US men’s national football team. The former Chelsea and Tottenham manager has been offered the opportunity to succeed Gregg Berhalter, and lead the US at the next World Cup, in 2026, which it will co-host with Canada and Mexico. Negotiations between Pochettino, his representatives, and US Soccer’s technical director, Matt Crocker, whom he worked with at Southampton, have been taking place for several weeks.
