New Zealand Cricket Send Delegation To Pakistan To Inspect Security Arrangements Ahead Of Tri-Series

New Zealand Cricket has sent a delegation to Pakistan to inspect security and other arrangements for a scheduled tri-series in January. Besides hosts Pakistan and New Zealand, South Africa is the third team in the event. Pakistan is hosting the multi-team event as a curtain raiser to the ICC Champions Trophy in February and March.The New Zealand delegation, including security expert Reg Dickason and New Zealand Players' Association representative Brad Rodden are in Karachi and Lahore to discuss security arrangements and other preparations for the event.

Mitchell Santner Named New Zealand White Ball Captain

Spin bowler Mitchell Santner was named New Zealand captain for both white ball formats Wednesday, filling a six-month vacancy since teammate Kane Williamson stood down. Santner, who has played 107 one-day internationals and 106 T20Is, will begin his tenure with a three-match home ODI series against Sri Lanka from December 28. The 32-year-old has previously led New Zealand in 28 white ball matches, some on a stand-in basis after Williamson relinquished the role following the T20 World Cup in June. Santner described the full-time appointment as a "huge honour".

England made 499 in their first innings, an imposing 151-run lead, led by Harry Brook's 171. "We're in an amazing position to go on and win the game," said Brook, who benefitted from five dropped catches. "I had a lot of luck, didn't I. and thankfully I cashed in."
