Juventus ended the last transfer window with a frown and a sense of uncertainty. Cristiano Ronaldo had just left, and while it was just a question of whether he'd be moving on for a fee in the summer of 2021 or as a free agent the following August, the fact that his move to Manchester United was only finalized in the dying hours of the window meant they had to scramble for cover.
