"He's Never...": England Great Alastair Cook's Verdict On James Anderson Registering For IPL Auction

Former England Test captain Sir Alastair Cook said he would be interested to see if anyone picks veteran pacer James Anderson in the upcoming mega auction for the 2025 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Anderson, England's leading wicket-taker with 704 scalps, retired from international cricket this year after playing in the Lord's Test against the West Indies in July. He has now registered for the IPL 2025 mega auction at a base price of INR 1.25 crore. Anderson, who now works as a fast-bowling mentor with England, last played a T20 game in 2014 and has never played in the IPL before. The IPL 2025 mega auction will be held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on November 24 and 25, and has got a longlist of 1574 players.

KKR Eye Replacement For Mitchell Starc, Set To Target This India Pacer In IPL 2025 Mega Auction

Indian Premier League (IPL) reigning champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will have to rebuild in the IPL 2025 mega auction, having had to release most of their title-winning squad. One of KKR's key performers in IPL 2024 was Australian pacer Mitchell Starc, who won the Player of the Match award in both the Qualifier 1 and the final. However, with Starc released, KKR reportedly have one big Indian pacer. That is none other than left-arm seamer Arshdeep Singh, who was India's highest wicket-taker in the T20 World Cup 2024.

Virat Kohli's "My New Team" Post Sends Social Media Into Frenzy. Internet Says, "Gave A Shock To Nation"

Virat Kohli was one of the three retained players by Royal Challengers Bengaluru ahead of the IPL 2025 auction. He became the costliest Indian player to be retained at Rs 21 crore. On the international front, Kohli has not been going through a smooth phase. Virat Kohli's scores in the recently concluded Test series against New Zealand read 0, 70, 1, 17, 4, 1. And the reflection of that performance is clear on his ICC Test ranking. Courtesy his scores of 4 and 1 in the Mumbai Test that India lost, Kohli has dropped down eight places to 22nd. This is the India star's lowest in over 10 years. In August 2014, he was ranked 24th after a lean tour of England.

KKR Star Venkatesh Iyer, Released Before IPL Auction, Lets Bat Do The Talking In Ranji Trophy

Veteran skipper Anustup Majumdar led from the front with a gritty century, steering Bengal out of early trouble before Karnataka staged a late comeback to leave Bengal at a uncomfortable 249/5 on the opening day of their Group C Ranji Trophy match here on Wednesday. Karnataka's new-ball bowler Vasuki Koushik struck early, removing Bengal opener Shuvam Dey for a three-ball duck, and then dismissed Sudip Gharami after a painstaking 45-ball-5, reducing Bengal to 21 for 2 after opting to bat first. 40--year-old captain Anustup then steadied the innings, coming in at No. 4 and forming a crucial partnership with No. 3 Sudip Chatterjee, who scored a composed 50 off 120 balls.

"Saying Goodbye To Players Is Never Easy": RCB's Director of Cricket Mo Bobat

Upon hearing that he was not retained for Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, big-hitting Australia all-rounder Glenn Maxwell has revealed about having a 30-minute discussion on a call with Royal Challengers Bengaluru's think-tank about the reasons. Now, Mo Bobat, RCB's director of cricket, has stated that the call to Maxwell was part of the franchise's commitment to nurturing strong relationships from the outset and maintaining them until the very end. "At RCB, culture isn't just about the middle of the journey, where everyone is together. It's about building strong bonds at the start and honouring them at the end. Induction and exit are key for cultural connection, and we're mindful of these phases," said Bobat in a statement issued by RCB to IANS.
