Ravindra Jadeja Becomes Most Successful Bowler vs RCB In IPL History

Chennai Super Kings skipper Ravindra Jadeja became the most successful bowler against Royal Challengers Bangalore, as he holds the record for the most number of wickets against the franchise. Jadeja achieved this feat on Tuesday when he scalped three wickets against RCB, at Dr DY Patil Stadium, Navi Mumbai. He now has a total of 26 wickets against RCB. The all-rounder is being followed by Jasprit Bumrah and Ashish Nehra, with 24 and 23 wickets, respectively.

Defending champions Chennai Super Kings won their first match of IPL 2022, when they beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by 23 runs on Tuesday. CSK posted a mammoth 216/4 on the board and RCB needed its star batters, Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli, to get a big score and lay the foundation for the chase. But that didn't happen as captain du Plessis was sent back in the third over itself.

Skipper Faf du Plessis admitted that Royal Challengers Bangalore missed the services of their pacer Harshal Patel in their defeat against Chennai Super Kings in the IPL 2022 on Tuesday. Notably, Harshal was not part of RCB's playing XI against Chennai at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy as the pacer had to leave the IPL bio bubble to return home after news of his sister's tragic death. Sources in RCB had said that Harshal exited the bubble on Sunday after the game against Mumbai Indians on Saturday. It is not yet clear how long Harshal will remain unavailable for the RCB team.

The all-rounder's unbeaten knock of 50 runs off 42 balls helped his side post 162 for seven in 20 overs, setting a target of 163 runs which SRH reached with five balls to spare. Other than getting criticised for his side's lack of runs in the game, Pandya was also under the spotlight for having a go at teammate Mohammed Shami for not attempting a catch. Despite fans not taking it well, the all-rounder received backing from legends Graeme Swann and Matthew Hayden.

Having notched up his first win as captain of Chennai Super Kings, Ravindra Jadeja on Tuesday said he is still learning in his role and it will take some time "to get things going". After four successive losses, CSK finally opened their account on Tuesday with a 23-run win over Royal Challengers Bangalore. "First of all, this is the first victory as a captain ever. I would like to dedicate to my wife because first victory is always special," Jadeja said in the post-match presentation after CSK restricted RCB to 193 for 9 while chasing an imposing 217 to win.
