It Would Be Honour To Coach Team India: Zaheer Khan

Zaheer Khan, former Indian left-arm fast bowler and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) mentor for the Indian Premier League, has said that it will be an honour if he gets an opportunity to coach Team India. "It would be an honour to coach Team India," Zaheer Khan told Boria Majumdar in Kolkata at a CII event, according to a video posted by RevSportz on their X handle. The left-arm fast bowler went on to participate in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for two additional years before retiring in 2017. Following his retirement, Zaheer Khan worked as a bowling coach with Mumbai Indians in international cricket prior to accepting a position as a mentor at LSG in 2024.

Rishabh Pant Says Ashish Nehra's Advice Helped Him Rebuild After Life-Threatening Car Crash

The flamboyant Rishabh Pant on Monday acknowledged the influence and guidance of Ashish Nehra after he survived his horrific car accident, saying the former India seamer's advice to "stay happy" stood the keeper-batter in good stead during a difficult phase. Pant met with the accident on the Delhi-Dehradun highway on the night of December 30, 2022. His car caught fire but he made a lucky escape even though his injuries were quite severe and needed multiple surgeries. IPL 2025: Will Be Great If R Sai Kishore Gets Into Indian Team, Says Ambati Rayudu

Former India batter Ambati Rayudu batted for spinner Sai Kishore's inclusion in the national side following his consistent run in the ongoing IPL 2025 season. The 28-year-old is currently the second-highest wicket-taker for GT and the second-highest among all spinners in IPL 2025, having taken eight wickets in four matches at an economy rate of 7.06. With a career T20 economy rate of 5.98 from 74 matches, his overall performance is even more remarkable. The spinner has played three T20Is for India, as part of a second-string side, at the Asian Games in October 2023. Since then, he hasn't represented India in any format.

"Lack Of Sensitivity": Sunil Gavaskar Blasts England Board. Reason - 2 India Captains And Pataudi Trophy

Indian cricket team's Tour of England starting June 20 will be a closely watched affair. However, this time the bilateral series will not be called the Pataudi Trophy - named after the Pataudi family which gave India two captains Iftikhar Ali Khan Pataudi and Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi [nicknamed Tiger Pataudi]. Several reports have confirmed that England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) is 'retiring' the Pataudi Trophy from the upcoming series. The Pataudi Trophy was first awarded in 2007 to commemorate 75 years of first India vs England Test. Since then, the Pataudi Trophy has been the name of the India vs England bilateral contest played in England.

MS Dhoni Sent Brutal Message By Pakistan Great Amid IPL 2025 Struggle: 'Should've Left Long Back...'

Once labelled as the ‘finisher' in Indian cricket, MS Dhoni is under serious pressure after failing to contribute to Chennai Super Kings' run chase for a third straight game in the IPL 2025 season. The five-time champions started the season with a four-wicket win over Mumbai Indians but have since lost in three straight games, against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals respectively while chasing, which has seen them fall down to the ninth spot in the league table. The former India captain still looks as quick as ever behind the stumps but has batted at a strike rate of 138.18, down from 220.55 in the previous edition, while struggling to find the boundaries and score at a quick rate.

However, while he has confirmed that he would keep playing ODIs, there is no clarity yet whether he would stay on till the 2027 50-over World Cup. However, former India World Cup-winning captain Kapil Dev has given a different suggestion to Team India for captaincy.
