India pacer Jasprit Bumrah suffered a back injury on the eve of the first T20I against South Africa, which has now raised doubts over his participation in the T20 World Cup in Australia. With less than a month left for India's opening game of the tournament against arch-rivals Pakistan, it seems highly unlikely that the star pacer will recover in time for the tournament. Bumrah will miss the remaining T20I games agaisnt South Africa, but the BCCI has not confirmed anything regarding his participation at the showpiece event.

The T20 International between India and South Africa in Guwahati on Sunday is set to be a full house with all tickets sold out, an official said. The transparent manner in which the tickets were sold has also increased the enthusiasm among the cricket fans, Assam Cricket Association (ACA) secretary Devajit Saikia told PTI on Friday. "We are expecting a full house. Out of about 38,000 seats, 21,200 were for the general public and the tickets were sold online in two phases. The tickets were sold out in no time," he said.

Former India captain MS Dhoni was spotted playing golf at the Kapil Dev-Grant Thornton Invitational 2022 event in Gurugram. Dev, who was also present at the scene, shared a picture alongside Dhoni. It is worth noting that both Dev and Dhoni are the only Indian captains to win the 50-over World Cup. While India won their maiden title in 1983 under the captaincy of Dev, Dhoni had led the team to their second ODI World Cup triumph in 2011 on home soil.

Rohit Sharma-led Team India arrived in Guwahati on Thursday for the second T20I of the three-match series against South Africa. A day later, the BCCI shared the video of the team's arrival on social media. In the clip, Arshdeep Singh and Deepak Chahar could be seen cutting a cake ahead of their departure from Thiruvananthapuram -- the venue for the first T20I -- before taking a flight to Guwahati. There, from airport to the streets of the city, a huge crowd had come out of their homes to give a rousing reception to the players.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Friday announced the prize money for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2022, with the title winners taking home a whopping USD 1.6 million. The apex cricket body in an official media release stated: "The ICC announced that the winning side at the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2022 in Melbourne on November 13 would receive prize money of USD 1.6 million, with the runners-up guaranteed half the amount."

In a big blow for India ahead of the 2022 T20 World Cup, pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah has suffered a back injury that has reportedly ruled him out of the upcoming mega event. News agency PTI, quoting BCCI sources, said Bumrah has suffered a stress fracture in the back and won't play the World Cup. The Board is yet to confirm Bumrah's exclusion, but they have said he is under supervision and out of India's squad for the ongoing series against South Africa.
