BCCI Chief Selector Chetan Sharma Resigns, Say Sources Amid Sting Operation Row

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) chief selector Chetan Sharma has resigned amid row over his alleged remarks in a sting operation. The BCCI secretary Jay Shah is said to have accepted his resignation. In the sting operation, Sharma had allegedly made some bizarre comments about Virat Kohli, Sourav Ganguly, Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya and a number of other players in the team. The BCCI didn't release any official statement on the matter and now it seems like Sharma has been relieved from his duties.

On Valentine's Day, the star India all-rounder posted images after renewing his wedding vows with wife Natasa Stankovic. The social media post went viral. "We celebrated Valentine's Day on this island of love by renewing the vows we took three years ago. We are truly blessed to have our family and friends with us to celebrate our love," Hardik Pandya wrote in an Instagram post. Notably, Hardik and Natasa got engaged on January 1, 2020, on a cruise before tying the knot during the COVID-19 lockdown. Later that year, the pair was blessed with a baby boy, named Agastya.

Star India batter Prithvi Shaw landed in trouble on Thursday after a video of him emerged on social media, where he could be seen in a scuffle with a woman. According to a police complaint, an argument with India's 2018 Under-19 World Cup-winning captain escalated into a fight with a baseball bat and a car chase. A report by news agency PTI said the issue started in a luxury hotel in the early hours on Thursday after the accused seeking selfies mobbed the cricketer, who obliged some and denied others when the requests became incessant.

India May Play Its Asia Cup Games In UAE, And Not In Pakistan: Report

In a possible solution to the Asia Cup logjam, Pakistan may remain the host and India could be offered to play its matches in the UAE where some games will be held, according to sources in the Board (PCB). In such a scenario, the UAE will also host the final if India qualifies for it, according to a Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) source. An emergent meeting of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) was held in Bahrain on February 4 at the behest of PCB chief Najam Sethi after the continental body released its itinerary and Pakistan wasn't named the hosts of the tournament.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has apologised for the technical glitch, which saw India displace Australia to attain the No.1 spot in the men's Test team rankings on Wednesday. Ashwin, in a video on his YouTube channel, doesn't think it is possible for Pakistan to skip the ODI World Cup in India if the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) refuses to travel to their country for the Asia Cup.
