Former India captain Kapil Dev has shared his views on star batters Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma's recent return to domestic cricket. Both Kohli and Rohit played a match each for their respective sides in the Ranji Trophy, with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) making it mandatory for players to feature in domestic circuit. While Kohli last played for Delhi in 2013, we would also have to go a decade back for Rohit's last Ranji appearance for Mumbai.

However, they had a training session ahead of the first ODI in Nagpur, even as Shastri touched upon England's lack of sufficient training.

After a loud appeal for caught behind, the umpire raised his fingers. However, Banton wasn't sure if he had nicked it, and consulted Root over the same.

India star batter Virat Kohli and England all-rounder Liam Livingstone were involved in a hilarious banter during third ODI at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Wednesday. It happened after the England player tried to tease Kohli over a DRS reprieve that the latter received at the time of his batting. While trying to play an Adil Rashid delivery in the 15th over of India's innings, Kohli missed the ball and got hit on the back foot. The England players appealed for an LBW but umpire was unconvinced. The visitors decided to go upstairs only to find out that the ball was marginally pitched outside the leg stump.

Using India's aggressive approach in the ODI series against England as a case in point, skipper Rohit Sharma said players have the "freedom" to adopt their own methods and the management is not overly worried about occasional failures. India rounded off their preparations for the upcoming Champions Trophy with 3-0 rout of England, and in the final match they demolished the visitors by a massive 142-run margin. "There is a bit of freedom in the squad to go out there and play the way you want. The World Cup (2023) was a perfect example of that. We want to continue to do that. There will be times it will not fall in place but that's okay," said Rohit in the post-match presentation.
