India's designated skipper across all formats, Rohit Sharma, hasn't played a single T20I game since the conclusion of the 2022 T20 World Cup. Seeing the Indian team struggling in the T20Is against West Indies, questions over the absence of players like Rohit, Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja, etc. from the shortest format have intensified. Breaking silence over his T20I absence, Rohit admitted that it is 'not possible' for some players to play all formats, especially keeping this year's ODI World Cup in mind.

Mumbai Indians star batter Tilak Varma left everyone utterly impressed with his maiden international half-century on Sunday. Varma achieved the milestone during the second T20I match between India and West Indies, where the visitors faced a defeat by two wickets. Opting to bat first, Team India could only post a total of 152/7 in 20 overs and West Indies bowlers brilliantly dominated them. Later, the hosts chased down the target in just 18.5 overs with Nicholas Pooran scoring 67 runs.

However, he held his position and waited for Powell to lift his leg so that he can try the stumping. However, when he ended up dislodging the bails, it was a bit too late as the batter was already back in his crease and his plan did not materialise in the way that he would have wanted.

Jasprit Bumrah makes his return to competitive cricket as he will lead India during the T20I series against Ireland, starting in August, announced the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on July 31.
