"On Certain Days They Will Have...": India Batting Coach's Blunt Take On Pakistan Pacers

India batting coach Vikram Rathour said their batters have the skills to post a big score against the Shaheen Shah Afridi-led bowling unit. Pacers Afridi and Haris Rauf had rocked the Indian top order in their Group A league match here on Saturday, reducing them to 66 for 4 inside 15 overs. "We will try to bat better in that (Super 4) match. (In the last match) the conditions and situation were different. They are a good bowling attack. It is not like we can't play them (Pakistan pacers). They are a good bowling attack and on certain days they will have an edge. When we get a start, our batters are capable of putting up a big score," Rathour said at the post-match press conference after India defeated Nepal by 10 wickets on Monday.

"I Don't Count It As A Wicket": Ex-India Pacer On Virat Kohli's Dismissal vs Pakistan In Asia Cup 2023

While commenting on Virat Kohli's dismissal against Pakistan in Asia Cup 2023, former India pacer S Sreesanth said that he doesn't count it as a 'wicket'. Notably, Kohli became a victim of Shaheen Afridi in India's campaign opener against Pakistan at the continental event last week. It was a good length ball from Shaheen and Kohli got an inside edge on it. The ball first hit his pad and then changed its direction to fall onto the stumps. Sreesanth added that Pakistan were lucky to get the wicket of the star India batter.

"It Was Lacking...": Rohit Sharma Explains Squad Selection Logic For ODI World Cup

India captain Rohit Sharma on Tuesday pointed out that the Indian cricket team needs to create depth in batting and bowling, something he feels the team has been lacking. The skipper wants the bowlers to contribute with runs too in batting when needed. Hosts India announced their squad for the upcoming World Cup set to take place in October-November. "We need to create that depth (in batting and bowling) as it was lacking in our team for the last few years. When we talk about depth in batting, that No. 9, No. 8 positions become very crucial," said Rohit during the press conference that took place on Tuesday to announce India's 2023 Cricket World Cup squad.

After the first Asia Cup 2023 match between India and Pakistan was washed out due to rain, another one's fate is hanging in balance with the Super 4 encounter between the two teams, on Sunday, also expected to witness plenty of rain. In the group match, only one of the innings was possible, with Pakistan not getting to face a single delivery after India set them a target of 267 runs to chase. And now, former Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Najam Sethi has accused the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Asian Cricket Council (ACC) of deciding to not shift the India vs Pakistan Super-4 game from Colombo to Hambantota.
