Champions Trophy Venue Mess: Both Australia And South Africa To Travel To Dubai, With One Returning A Day After

The Champions Trophy 2025's scheduling has come under a lot of criticism. India are the only team that is playing in one venue (Dubai). All other teams are playing in different venues, sometimes different countries. So much so, that several players have been quite vocal about the 'venue advantage' of India. Now, according to a report, Group B potential semi-finalists Australia and South Africa will travel to the UAE on Saturday. But strangely one of them will return to India as one of the semi-finals will in Pakistan, while the other will be in Dubai.

"Ya Toh Win Hai, Ya Toh Learn Hai": Ex-India Star Trolls Pakistan Captain Mohamad Rizwan

Former India batter Aakash Chopra has trolled Pakistan's white-ball captain Mohammad Rizwan after the host team's early exit from Champinos Trophy 2025. It was a disappointing performance from the defending champions as they failed to advance to the next round and got eliminated in the group stage itself. What added to Pakistan's trouble was the fact that they ended the tournament at the bottom spot in the Group A table with no wins in three games and only one point to their credit. The side also achieved an unwanted record of becoming the defending champions with worst-ever finish in the tournament history - One point and net run rate of -1.087.

"He Represents 25 Crore...": Mohammad Rizwan's English Mocked By TV Anchor. Gets Bashed

A video of Pakistani TV anchor mocking national cricket team captain Mohammad Rizwan's English and former players like Mohammad Amir, Ahmed Shehzad and Rashid Latif laughing over it is going viral on social media. "He represents 25 crore people. We want our representative to speak well, look well, say sensible things, play fearless cricket with honesty. When I watch my captain Mohammad Rizwan in press conferences, I'm not saying he should speak in English. He can talk in Urdu but he should make some sense. What is this 'sometimes you win, or you learn. Sometimes it's cramp, sometimes it's acting'," said TV presenter Tabish Hashmi in the video. While Amir hid his laugh, Latif was seen smiling. Nothing was able to control Shehzad who burst into laughter after listening to the mimicry.

Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi To Be Axed After Champions Trophy Disaster? Report's 'NZ Tour' Bombshell

Some of the senior Pakistan players could withdraw from the next month's New Zealand tour in the aftermath of the team's embarrassing exit from the Champions Trophy, sources said on Friday. Pakistan exited the home event without winning a single game as it began the campaign with a heavy 60-run defeat against New Zealand in Karachi and then lost by six wickets to arch-rivals India in Dubai. On Thursday, the home team's match against Bangladesh in Rawalpindi had to abandoned due to rain, crushing the comeback hopes. According to sources aware of developments in the Board, a few players are contemplating if they should travel to New Zealand. Pakistan are scheduled to play five T20Is and three ODIs during the white-ball tour from March 16-April 5.

Shreyas Iyer Gifts Net Bowler Jaskiran Singh A Pair Of Shoes, Livens Up His Day

It was a special moment for one of the net bowlers Jaskiran Singh at the ICC Cricket Academy in Dubai when India top-order batter Shreyas Iyer walked up to him and gifted him a pair of spikes during a Champions Trophy practice session. Jaskiran, a chartered accountant by profession and an avid cricket lover, was fielding at long-off when Iyer came up to him and asked, "Paaji kya haal-chaal, sab badiya? (Brother how are you? Everything fine?" "Shreyas bhai came up to me and asked 'what's your show size'? I said 10, and then he said I've got something for you and he gave me these spikes. It really means a lot," Jaskiran, who is one of the ICC net bowlers for the Champions Trophy, told PTI Videos.

Big Problem For India vs New Zealand In CT 2025, Mohammed Shami May Sit Out Because "During The Pakistan Game..."

The presence of five left-handed batters in the New Zealand line-up and the slight calf trouble faced by Mohammed Shami during the Pakistan game may force the Indian team management to play left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh in the Sunday's Champions Trophy game. If the Friday's practice session was an indication, then the Punjab pacer in all likelihood will replace Shami, who has recently returned to the national fold following a long injury lay-off.

Afghanistan Could Win An ICC Tournament In Next Decade: Dale Steyn

South Africa pace legend Dale Steyn reckons the fast-rising Afghanistan can go on to win an ICC limited-overs tournament in the next decade if their players learn how to play patiently. Overcoming war and instability in their nation, the Afghanistan cricket team has evolved from an affiliate member to a formidable force in white-ball tournaments. They almost reached the knockouts in the 2023 ODI World Cup, defeating former champions England, Sri Lanka and Pakistan while they were the semifinalists at last year's T20 World Cup, where they knocked out Australia.
